The Bulldogs were far from home, competing in the Ka'anapali Classic in Hawaii, but it didn’t matter as they finished the fall portion of their schedule on a high note.In a field of 20 golf programs, Georgia reigned supreme, finishing first at 23 under after three rounds and narrowly beating a 22-under Clemson. A big reason for the Bulldogs’ success was Grayson Wood’s season-best 11-under finish, which tied for first with the Tigers’ Hampton Roberts.Wood saved his best for last with a 5-under 66 in the final round, which included a bogey-free front nine. After finishing even par in the first round, Georgia entered the final round atop the leaderboard after shooting 10 under in the second round, up six strokes over Clemson. It was a lead the Bulldogs would not relinquish.Drew Woolworth, competing as an individual, added another top-10 finish for the Bulldogs, tying for seventh at 6 under.James Earle also delivered a strong performance for Georgia, finishing ninth at 5 under. Earle climbed 14 spots on the individual leaderboard, highlighted by a bogey-free back nine in the final round.Georgia’s success extended beyond its individual performances, as the Bulldogs led the tournament field in par-4 scoring and recorded a tournament-high 66 birdies. The victory marked the second tournament title of the season for Georgia and a strong conclusion to the fall window for rookie head coach Mookie DeMoss.Georgia will now turn its attention to the spring portion of its schedule, beginning in February at the Gators Invitational in Gainesville, Florida.
