The westbound lanes of East Broad Street are now open. The eastbound lanes, closest to campus, will remain closed into the weekend for safety as building stabilization work continues, according to a University of Georgia email. South Jackson Street between East Broad Street and South Street are to remain closed. Sidewalks adjacent to the damaged building will continue to be closed as well. UGA advised in the email to use caution if walking or driving around the area, and said drivers and pedestrians should expect ongoing travel delays due to ongoing road and sidewalk closures. UGA and Athens-Clarke County transit service routes will remain impacted, including the continued closure of the UGA Arch bus stop. Passengers of these services should expect alternate routes and extended travel times. For updates from UGA’s Transportation & Parking Services, monitor tps.uga.edu and visit tps.uga.edu/alerts for the latest alerts. Track buses at routes.uga.edu or in the UGA app. ACC traffic alert updates can be found at accgov.com/AlertCenter . No further campus updates are expected unless any other road closures are necessary.
